Katherine Heigl has revealed that she was brought up in a bubble of white and how this realization affected how she raised her adopted multiracial kids. The actress from "Firefly Lane" spoke to the media that it was not important what color her skin was for her. After meeting her adopted Korean American older sister, she realised the distinction in how people were treated by her. I asked Meg if, when going out with her parents she got a particular treatment but when she was on her own, she received a different one. Meg responded "Oh Yes, all the time!" That made me realize that I was so ignorant," Heigl said to parents. According to the actor she grew angry. She wanted to channel this energy into helping her adopted girls. Heigl, who has been engaged to Josh Kelley for 13 years they have a son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. They have adopted Nancy Leigh from South Korea aged 12 in 2009, then Adalaide aged 8 who is now young and Black as of 2012.
