Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 1988) is an American actress, singer and dancer. Her early roles on Broadway included in musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has been collaborating on projects with award-winning directors as well as actors and producers for most of her professional career. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's current film is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. In the form of a Hulu Original, the film will be available on Disney Digital Television's channels. In March of 2023 Ashford returns to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The same team that created Hamilton director Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the leading the production. Ashford's most recent performance was Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the National scandal that featured Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. Ashford was a part of two seasons on the hit CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. The show featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie in You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford is from the city of Denver resident who splits his time in Los Angeles.
